Attention, Ready, Go! InnoGames Dragon Boat Race 2012
As you know, even if we spent most of our working time in front of a screen, we are still a very sportive company. This Sunday, it was time again for our annual fun sport event – the dragon boat race 2012!
After some awesome training sessions during the last few weeks, we were ready to go: It was time to finally put on our special shirts, grab the paddles and kick some butt. We were quite lucky with the weather - a nice mix of sun, clouds and some raindrops awaited us when we met around 9 a.m. at the Veritas Beach Club (only a few meters away from our office). The event went from 10 a.m. until late afternoon, so we had some idle hours besides the actual races. Being at a beach club, we spent our waiting time with playing beach volleyball, soccer, refreshing drinks and delicious barbeque.
Sometimes being a woman is quite hard (enter hilarious feminist joke here) but during the races, it was even harder. At least six girls were required in each boat, which meant that each of the attending female colleagues had to paddle in all of the three races. Every one of us is really sore today, but it was totally worth it – we had a fun time! I am already looking forward to our next sports event, the B2RUN (a run especially for companies). Some of us are already practicing for that, and of course we will keep you updated!
